Obituary of Catherine Leask
Catherine McKay Leask (Kay) of Crossfield passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the age of 88 years.
Kay was born October 11, 1918 in Marcelin, Saskatchewan. The family came to the Madden district in 1928. She began her nursing career in February, 1946 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC graduating in 1949. Kay devoted her life to nursing in both BC and Alberta working until the age of 67. After her retirement, family played the biggest role in her life. She cherished the time she could be with her siblings, nieces, nephews and friends. Kay enjoyed reading, being outdoors and especially loved to take photos of the western sunsets.
Kay is survived by two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Corrine as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and George; four brothers, Jimmy, George, Donald (Slim) and Mac; two sisters, Margaret Sharp and Isabella Leask.
Funeral Services will be held at Crossfield United Church (1005 Ross Street) Crossfield, AB on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Crossfield Cemetery.
