Obituary of Robert Michael Weiss

Bob Weiss, beloved husband of Linda Weiss of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at the age of 55 years, after a valiant attempt to defeat cancer. His heroic spirit will be remembered by his wife of thirty-three years, Linda; his three children, Matthew, Kathryn and Daniel; his parents Bill and Terry; his brothers, Bill (Asia) and David; sister Susan (Eldon) of Calgary; extended family (in-laws, Mary, Bonnie (Bruce), Carol (Frank), Calvin; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins); and friends. Bob was born in Vegreville, AB and grew up in Saskatoon, SK. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and moved to Calgary where he married Linda in 1974. Bob’s career was spent in the oil the gas industry at Gulf Canada Ltd., Norcen Energy Resources Ltd., and Poco Petroleums Ltd. He formed Streamline Energy Group with partner Paul in 2000. Bob was a brilliant man who spent spare moments with a book in hand, or enjoying long walks amongst nature in the company of Linda and two border collies. Many weekends were spent at his acreage near Pigeon Lake which he developed into a beautiful sanctuary. Bob’s whole life was his family. His witty sense of humour, his quiet demeanour, and his spiritual and intellectual knowledge are present in our memories forever. Bob, your pain and suffering are over.
