Obituary of Ed Reynolds

Ed Reynolds, beloved husband of Joan Reynolds of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 14, 2007 at the age of 86 years. Ed was raised in Murray River, PEI, and always considered himself a true “islander” even after leaving the area at the age of nineteen. In March of 1940, he joined the army. He served with the PEI Highlanders and transferred to the Princess Louise Dragoon Guards (PLUGS) and ventured overseas in September of that same year. Ed valiantly served in Italy and Northwest Europe before returning to Canada in 1945. Following eight years of civilian life in Winnipeg, Ed joined the Pay Corps in 1953 where he would remain until 1969. Once settled in Calgary, Ed received his Certified General Accountant designation and formed a successful accounting business. Ed is survived and will be dearly missed by Joan, his wife of fifty-one years; their children, Ty Reynolds, Avril (aka Brandy) Calvert, Tim (Jennifer) Reynolds and two beloved grandsons, Matthew Calvert and Drew Reynolds.
