Obituary of Fanny Maerov

Fanny Maerov passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 14, 2007, at the Beverly Midnapore Centre at the age of 90. Fanny was called Auntie Fun by all who knew her, due to her wonderful sense of humour. She worked at Hy’s Steak House for many years until her retirement in the late 1980’s. Over the years she belonged to various Jewish organizations and was a member of The Beth Tzedec Synagogue. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Fanny is survived by her brother Bernie and his wife Beverly of Chestermere, AB; nephews, Doran Aisenstat of Vancouver, Mitchell and his wife Alison Aisenstat. and family of Calgary, AB, Jasson and his wife Carmen Aisenstat. and family of Vancouver, BC, Kelly and his wife Tracy Aisenstat and family of St. Albert, AB; as well as many other cousins, nieces and nephews across Canada. Fanny was predeceased by her husband Alex, her brother Hy Aisenstat, and her sisters, Ida Garfin and Alice Shatz. A Graveside Service will be held at Erlton Cemetery (30 Avenue and Erlton Street S.W.) on Friday, March 16, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. Many thanks to the management and staff of the Beverly Centre Midnapore, for their wonderful and loving care of our Fanny.
