Obituary of Michael Artus
Michael Alan Artus, beloved husband of Marion Pansy Artus, passed away peacefully on Monday March 5, 2007, at the Brooks Health Centre, at the age of 79 years.
Michael was born in County Longford, Ireland and grew up in Stroud, England. He joined the Royal Navy in 1944, stationed in Singapore and Freemantle, Australia. Michael immigrated to Canada in 1947, eventually spending thirty-one years at Home Oil and Scurry Rainbow Oil. He loved his family, golf, collecting cars and a good steak accompanied by a glass of red wine.
Besides his loving wife Marion, Michael is survived by his sons, Shawn of Calgary, Mitch (Maryanne) of Perth, Western Australia and Rick (Sheila) of Calgary; and his grandchildren, Jacqueline and Ryan of Perth, Western Australia.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday March 13, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
