Obituary of Fanny Christina Forrester
Fanny Forrester of Calgary passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2007 surrounded with the love of her children and grandchildren at the age of 79 years.
Fanny was born in Prince Albert, SK the third of eight children. She spoke often of picnics with her family in the Nesbitt Forest as a highlight of her childhood. She married Ross on April 23, 1948 and in 1949 they moved to Calgary. Her children she considered her greatest accomplishment. Our home was one of laughter. Friends were always welcome and often the house was filled with her wonderful baking and many of our friends thought of her as a second mother. Family picnics filled our summers and Sunday dinners with everyone gathered together brought her joy. She encouraged each of us to find our path in life and was our greatest cheerleader. While we may mourn her passing, most of all we celebrate her life.
Fanny will be remembered with love by her children, Ken (Terrie) Forrester, Sharon (Doug) Pearce, Nancy (Jim) Suydam, and Russ Forrester (Josee); her grandchildren, Doug Forrester, Jim Forrester (Tracey), Robyn and Reid Pearce, Kaytlin Suydam (Brenden) and Malachi Suydam (Stacey), Erika (Clyde) Lingo, Shane (Carrie) Hamilton, Grant Hamilton (Jeri), Tracey (Shaun) Briscoe; eleven great-grandchildren, Johnathan Forrester, Ella Suydam, Tyler and Kiana Briscoe, Shae-Lyn, Carr-Lee, and Sheyen Hamilton, Jacob, Mathew, Kylie and Makayla Lingo. She is also survived by her siblings, May Parker, John Parker, Midge Parker, David (Dot) Parker, Norman Parker, June (Jim) Toews; her brother-in-law Ron Winter as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Fanny was predeceased by her husband Ross in 2002, her parents Thomas and Ellen Parker and her sister Ruth Winter.
