Obituary of Stephanie Anne Novak

Stephanie (Stephie) Anne Novak, cherished daughter of Wayne and Pam Novak, was taken from us suddenly on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at the age of 18 years. Stephie was born on March 11, 1988 in Calgary, AB. She graduated last year with honours from William Aberhart High School and was the recipient of the Rutherford Scholarship for Academic Achievement. She was currently attending SAIT in the Business Administration program, majoring in Finance. Stephie was an avid athlete having played soccer most of her life, often coached by her father Wayne with the Blizzards organization. Stephie was a well-known animal lover and had worked with rescue animals at Petland. She loved all animals, but mostly her own dog, Maggie May, who was always by her side. Stephie had been involved in the community with youth groups through the Grace Community Church. Her passion to help others, including children, was most recently expressed in her position at the VRRI, teaching soccer to youths. She was a water lover and enjoyed her family summer holidays at the cottage and winter family vacations in Mexico. She was an outgoing, loving and confident young woman with an unforgettable smile. She is loved and treasured by her family and will live forever in their hearts. Stephie is survived by her parents, Pam and Wayne; brothers, Alex Novak and Chris Rindfliesch; sister Nikki Rindfliesch; sister-in-law Tara; grandparents, Clare and Eileen Paulson and Jacob and Valerie Novak; aunt Patti Paulson and uncle Pat Boyd, aunt Genny Novak and uncle Sheldon Sorensen, uncle Wade Novak and aunt Wendy Novak; godparents Bev and Bob Jackson (Shilo, Mandi, Sarah); close family friends, Cathy and Don Wilson (Sara, Kendall, Laurel); and numerous cousins and friends. A scholarship fund in memory of Stephie has been created. It is the family’s desire that the scholarship be awarded to individuals who emulate Stephie’s qualities and achievements not only in academics but also athletics and community service. A Celebration of Stephie’s Life will be held at Centre Street Church Main Campus (3900 – 2nd Street N.E.) on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Miriam Möllering Presider.
