Obituary of Florencia Sampang

Mrs. Florencia Sampang, of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre on Sunday March 4, 2007 at the age of 77 years. Florencia was born in the Philippines on March 3, 1930. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Cooking, gardening and caring for her grandchildren were her favourite pastimes. She came to Canada in June 1979. Florencia is survived by her children Rodolfo and Victoria Sampang of San Francisco; Ernesto and Annette Sampang, Alma and Manuel Vincencio, Estelita and Ricardo Santos, all of Calgary, Bella and Lamberto Viray of Washington, Norma and Daniel Lozada of Calgary, Joseph and Olivia Sampang of New Jersey, and Josephine and Andres Baysa of the Philippines; as well as fourteen grandchildren and their spouses, Ronald and Gina Sampang, Edwin and Elvie Sampang, Brandon, Melissa and William Tigley, Mark, Vince, Lindsay, Jordan, Joanne, Paul, Ashley, Ray, Nicole and Francesca; and her four great grandchildren. She is also survived by five brothers and three sisters, all of the Philippines. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday March 7, and Thursday March 8, 2007 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Prayers will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Church (1100 Berkshire Boulevard N.W.) on Friday March 9, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
