Ralph Wademan

Obituary of Ralph Wademan

It is with profound sadness that the family of Ralph Wademan, devoted husband of Betty, announce the passing of their father, grandfather, great- grandfather and friend, on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Ralph was born in Kerrobert Saskatchewan, the oldest of six children. Ralph grew up on a farm near Luseland Saskatchewan, during the Great Depression, where trying times made him the patient, optimistic, hardworking, resilient man that we all admired. Ralph was a farmer, logger, miner and railway worker before being employed with Burns Foods in Calgary, for 31 years. His love of farming lasted his whole life and was reflected in his garden each year. Ralph (dad) was a very sociable man spending many vacation visits with family and friends in his favourite sunshine spots Hawaii and Mexico. Ralph was survived by his wife of 62 years Betty Wademan; his four children and their spouses Rod and Shane Wademan, Doug Wademan, both of Calgary, Greg and Bonnie Wademan, of Drayton Valley, and Cheryl and Richard Olsen, of Red Deer; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. As per Ralph’s request, no funeral service will be held. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. We would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, and give a special thanks to the staff at Southwood Care Centre, especially Melanie, for her special care. In living memory of Ralph Wademan, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Telephone: (403) 243-8200.
