Florence Patterson

Obituary of Florence Emily Patterson

Florence (Flo) Emily Patterson (nee Andrews) of Calgary passed peacefully into God’s loving arms on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the tender age of 84 years, after a short, courageous and dignified battle with cancer. Flo was born July 1, 1922 and raised on the Bar U Ranch as one of five children to Frederick and Margaret Andrews. Above all she treasured her family and friends. Her passion for curling and gardening brought her tremendous joy, especially her forty years of coaching junior curlers in Western Canada. To her family and friends she curled with, and kids she coached, she loved you all. Flo will always be loved and her memory cherished by her husband of sixty-one years, Bud; her son Calvin (Anne and daughter Jesyka) and beloved daughter Lynn will forever hold the love she gave dear to their hearts. Left also to mourn her loss are her treasured grandsons, Ryon and Connor who were always her ‘special boys’. She also leaves special memories with all her in-laws, nephews, nieces and life long friends who were always close to her heart. Flo was predeceased by both parents, her siblings Cecil, Ernie, Bob and Joan, her sister-in-law Margaret Patterson (Al) and dear niece Patricia Andrews. Although Flo wished for nothing more than to be remembered as she was, there will be a Celebration of her life on March 17, 2007 at the Calgary Winter Club in the Skyline Room at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
