Obituary of Edward Raymond Brooks

Edward (Ed) Raymond Brooks of Cochrane passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Ed was born on April 14, 1922 on the family homestead near Loverna, SK. In the early 1940’s he moved to Hamilton, ON. Ed retired from his job in maintenance with the Hamilton Public School Board in 1987 and in 1998 he relocated to Cochrane, AB. Ed enjoyed traveling and during his early retirement years, he and his wife, Nel looked forward to driving to Florida to spend the winter months. His favourite hobbies included gardening and working on his macramé projects. Ed is survived by his twin sister Edna Peebles and sisters Dorothy Martin and Yvonne Gervais. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his wife Nel in 1998. He was also predeceased by father William Brooks, mother Jane Bolton, stepfather Elmer Bolton, brother Donald Brooks and sisters Annie Ewing, Winnifred Doig and Doreen Stevens. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church (128 – 1 Street East, Cochrane, AB) on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Interment will take place at the Loverna Cemetery, Loverna, SK at a later date.
