Obituary of Roy Harrison Alsip
Roy Harrison Alsip beloved husband of Ethna Alsip of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Southwood Nursing Home on Friday, February 23, 2007 at the age of 85 years.
Roy was born in Winnipeg, MB on October 1, 1921. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II and then returned to Winnipeg. In 1955, Roy and his family moved to Calgary where Roy was a respected member of the construction industry for many years. He joined the South Calgary Rotary Club in 1960 where he embraced the ideals of Rotary and volunteered countless hours in various club pursuits. Roy loved his family dearly and will be joyously remembered and sadly missed by all.
Roy is survived by Ethna his loving wife of sixty-three years , his daughter Terry (Lloyd); son Rick (Marsha); five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
