Obituary of Nellie Estabrook

Nellie Margaret (Mac) Estabrook (nee McComb) of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the age of 98 years. Mrs. Estabrook was born on March 10, 1908 in Cayley, AB, and was life long resident of Alberta. Her parents Edna Caspell McComb and Ernest McComb were pioneers. Mrs. Estabrook attended High River School and graduated from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Alberta in 1932. She married Roy Bertrand Estabrook (Estie) and opened Estabrook Pharmacy in Thorhild in 1940. In the 1950s she and her husband owned a drug store by the same name in Bridgeland. She remained active as a pharmacist until her retirement. She served as the secretary of the Alberta Pharmaceutical Association. Mrs. Estabrook is survived by her family Frederick and Katherine Estabrook of Florence, AZ, Beverley Mastrianni of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Patricia and John Booth of Salmon Arm, BC; and 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
