Clara Antifaev

Obituary of Clara Antifaev

Clara passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Rockyview General Hospital Thursday, February 2, 2007 at the age of 79. Clara was born in Mendham, Saskatchewan and grew up on a farm before moving to Medicine Hat and then to Calgary where she resided for many years. She lived for a time in Washington state and British Columbia before returning to Calgary. Clara was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She touched the lives of all who knew her and was always willing to listen – doling out love, understanding, and cookies. Clara was a bright lady who enjoyed reading, telling stories about “the good ol” days, and learning about the interplay of the world. Her whole life she wanted to provide the best for her large family, and was a great cook and baked the best cookies. Clara will be forever remembered by her children, Gail, John, Theresa, Susan, Jane, Frank, Dale, Blaine, Kelvin, Diane, and Bill; and numerous grandchildren and great-grand children including newly-born Keenan (Feb 6, 2007.) Clara is also survived by brothers, Tony and Edward; sisters, Margaret, Kay, Trudy, Eleanor, Frances, and Annette; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Clara was predeceased by her parents; siblings, Michael, Frank, Bill and Elaine; and husbands, Roy, Jacob, and George. A celebration of Clara’s life will be held at McInnis and Holloway’s Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Dr SW) on Saturday, February 24th at 2:30pm.
