Obituary of George Anderson
George Alfred Anderson, beloved and cherished husband of Vera Anderson of Calgary passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 19, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 82 years.
George was born December 6, 1924. He served in the Canadian Navy during WWII. He was employed for many years at United Cabs and Curlette Sales. George was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 284. He was an avid Flames and Stampeders fan, golfer, fly fisherman and he loved the outdoors, especially Montana. George was always a devoted family man and was a constant and faithful caregiver to his wife.
George was the much loved husband of Vera May (nee Butlin) of Bow Crest Care Centre; dear father to his son Wayne of Calgary and daughter and son-in-law, Beverley and David St. Louis of Windsor, ON; loving grandfather to Stephen and Renée St. Louis; brother of Ronald (Margaret) Anderson, Irene (Thomas) Young and Bernice (Al) Turner. George was predeceased by his parents Mary and Henry Anderson. The family will always be grateful to friends, Gwen and Nestor Ragon for their loving support. George and Nestor coached outdoor minor hockey together at Highland Park Community Centre and their friendship endured.
