Obituary of William Walasko

William (Bill) Walasko, of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital following a lengthy illness on February 14, 2007, at the age of 71 years. Bill was born in East Coulee, AB, and was raised in Hillcrest, AB. After High School in the Crowsnest Pass, he attended the University of Alberta and SAIT. Bill was a five season member of the Granum White Sox Baseball team in the 1950’s, before playing professionally in the United States, where he met his wife, Patricia. He was a devoted husband and father who will be remembered for his kind and thoughtful nature, as well as his dependability to all who sought help from him. Bill enjoyed his work in commercial and light industrial construction management. Having been raised in Alberta’s mountainous region, he greatly enjoyed the many excursions and long alpine hikes he shared with friends in the mountain areas west of Calgary. Bill will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Patricia; daughter, Cheryl (Todd) Sparks; two beautiful granddaughters, Megan and Courtney, whom he loved very much; son, Ron; sisters, Irene (Bill) Bell and Jean Ann; brother, Jim (Florence); as well as numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Veronica and Vincent Walasko.
