Obituary of Carol Dawn Peacock

Carol Dawn Peacock of Calgary, AB, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at the age of 52 years after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Carol was born on January 4, 1955 in Winnipeg, MB, where she was raised and educated receiving a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Manitoba in 1977. She was a loving wife and mother, dedicated to her family and had a special ability to make lasting friendships. Carol made the world a better place for anyone that knew her. To be a friend of Carol’s was to be one for a lifetime. She especially enjoyed her time working for the Lethbridge School District with special needs children. She had a special love for the Graham family cottage at Moose Lake, MB spending her summers there as a child. She and the family made annual treks back from Alberta each summer. Carol enjoyed the outdoors and had a special fondness for gardening. Carol will be sadly missed by her husband of twenty-nine years Blair; her daughters and son-in-law, Brooke, Dawn, Brianne and Jarvis Schmid; and by her parents, Don and Vivien Graham. She is also survived by her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Cam and Jan Graham, Dave and Marsha Graham; mother-in-law Louise Peacock, sisters-in-law Carolyn Gillespie and Valerie Peacock; brothers-in-law, Kent Peacock and Jeff Gillespie; nieces and nephews, Andrew, Alex, Derek, Giselle, Taylor and Ryan; the family dog Scooter; as well as numerous special and lifelong friends. Carol was predeceased by her father-in-law Jack and by her nephew Christopher. Those wishing to pay their respects and view Carol may do so at St. Paul’s Anglican Church (7 Sunmills Green S.E.) on Friday, February 16, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church (7 Sunmills Green S.E.) on Friday, February 16, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Carol’s family would like to thank Dr. Dowden and his staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the caregivers at the Palliative Care Unit 47 for the special treatment they gave Carol.
