Obituary of John Kirby Tieken

John Kirby Tieken, beloved husband of Isa Tieken of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at their winter home in Mesa, Arizona, at the age of 79 years. John was born July 22, 1927, in Melfort, SK, and moved to Calgary in 1958. He was a loving husband to his wife Isa for nearly forty years, and was a unique and wonderful man. He worked hard, played hard, and loved deeply. Following retirement, John and Isa enjoyed twenty-nine winters together, enjoying the beautiful weather, in the southern United States. John was a generous man, well known for his civic and charitable involvements. Besides his loving wife, Isa, John is also survived by his many loving relations and friends. Funeral Services will be held at St. Giles Presbyterian Church (1102 – 23rd Avenue N.W.) on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Joe Riddell, Presider.
