Obituary of Helen Mary Crowchild

Mrs. Helen Mary Crowchild beloved wife of Mr Alex Crowchild of Tsuu T’ina Nation has been called home by our Creator on Friday 9, 2007 at the age of 61 years. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and sister. Helen leaves behind her loving “Man” Alex of forty-four years; her children, Valerie (Don) McDougall, Cameron (Yolanda), Herb, Tim (Gladys), Chris (Leslie), Michelle (Dave); twenty-five grandchildren and two great grandsons, Rex and Ethan. Besides her nieces, nephews, other close family members, Helen leaves behind two brothers Herb (Cheryl) Baptiste and Floyd Baptiste; three sisters, Rosie Roan, Josephine Crowchild and Christine (Dennis) Buffalo; brother and sisters-in-law, Charlie, Elliot (Priscilla), Neil (Patricia), Pat, Frances (Helmut) Jensen; Aunt Victoria Ward; adopted children Carla and Mike Devine; adopted mother Sarah Gordon; adopted sisters Wendy and Ivy; special friends Shirley Auger, Dan Fraser, Anne Meguinis and Lyle Dodginghorse. She was predeceased by her parents Mark and Sophia Baptiste; paternal grandparents John and Eliza Baptiste; maternal grandparents Paul and Annie Oskatamin; sister Eliza Ward; brother John Raymond Ward and granddaughter Cree Dawn Crowchild, and other family members too numerous to mention. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Alex Crowchild (Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB) on Monday, February 12, 2007. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (Box 119, 3700 Anderson Road S.W., Tsuu T’ina Nation) on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 12:00p.m. with the Rev. Alex Shahun OMI, Presider. Graveside Service to follow at Tsuu T’ina Cemetery (Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB). Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
