Obituary of Marie Elizabeth Gillespie

Marie Gillespie (nee Johnston), of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Marie was born on September 14, 1921, in Vulcan, AB. She enjoyed a career as a supervisor at the University of Calgary for several years. Marie loved to golf and play pool. Marie and Dave enjoyed their retirement years in Arizona. Marie is remembered by her son, David Gillespie, of Fort McMurray, AB; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Claire Cummings, of Edmonton; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Leonard Voisey, of B.C, a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Esther Johnston, of Strathmore; and a sister-in-law, Vera Johnston, of Calgary. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Dave Gillespie, and a brother, Elmo Johnston. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Cremation.
