Obituary of Thomas Crozier
Thomas Crozier beloved husband and best friend of Marcy Fogal of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the age of 61 years.
After some years in logging, Tom returned to Simon Fraser University to take a combined degree in Sociology and Anthropology. Upon graduation, Tom began a fulfilling career with the Correctional Service of Canada working in both BC and Alberta. In 2001, Tom retired so he could spend more time fishing for halibut and salmon, traveling, visiting with friends and family, reading and gardening. He was well known for his quick mind, dry wit and ready smile. He was a natural storyteller capable of regaling listeners with his acute perceptions and choice turns of phrase. Among other things, Tom will be remembered for his ability to make lifelong friends. Tom maintained a lifetime interest and love of the arts and culture of the West Coast Aboriginal peoples, particularly the Haida. His wish was always to be returned to his beloved Haida Gwaii, and so a Memorial Social for family and friends will be held at Grey Bay on the Queen Charlotte Islands on Sunday, July 22, 2007.
In addition to his loving wife Marcy, Tom is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law Lindsey (Rob) Comeau and Lesley Crozier (Curtis Genest) both of Mission; mother Lillian Crozier of Abbottsford; five grandchildren, Kaiya, Monique, Gilbert, Céline and Luc all of Mission; a sister Wendy of Victoria; the mother of his children, Janet of Mission; chosen “siblings” Dave Kirby of Sidney, Don McLeod of Campbell River, Alex Matson of Sandspit, and Morna Wowk of Edmonton, and many, many other family and friends. Tom was predeceased by his father Tom Crozier Sr.
