Obituary of Johanna Minnie Bartlett
Johanna Bartlett of Calgary passed away on February 5, 2007 at the age of 88 years.
Johanna was born April 18, 1918 in Trochu, Alberta. On December 16, 1937, she married Norman Bartlett. Together, they came to Calgary in 1946 from Elnora, AB. Johanna worked at Peoples Jewellers for many years, as well as other retail stores, where she enjoyed meeting new people. She was a long time member of St. Joseph’s Parish. Johanna was also a member of the Renfrew and Kirby Seniors Clubs, the 55 Plus of OLPH, as well as the Hunterview Condo Association. Her greatest love was bowling, especially at North Hill Centre, which she did for over forty years. Johanna was very proud to have earned her driver’s license as an adult, and was able to continue her passion for driving until recent months. Johanna cherished her family, and especially her pet dogs, who provided wonderful companionship.
Johanna is remembered by her son, Allan (Susan) Bartlett, of Winnipeg; daughter, Nina Tricker, of Airdrie; grandchildren, Shannon (Glen) Isaac, of Airdrie; Korenna (Thom) Anderson, of Winnipeg; Michelle (Jay) Lajoie, of Wainwright; Kirk (Leann) Bartlett, of Winnipeg; and Kathy (Kevin) Gagnon, of Saint John’s; N.B.; three step-granddaughters, Tonya, Pamela, and Debora; as well as ten great grandchildren and numerous friends. Johanna was predeceased by her husband, Norman (2001); father, Dona (1972); mother, Lois (1998); brother, Joseph (1972); son-in-law, Bob Tricker (2005); and a great granddaughter, Victoria, in infancy (1991).
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.) on Friday, February 9, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.) on Saturday, February 10, 2007, at 11:00a.m. Cremation to follow.
