Obituary of Robert Fujino

Bob passed away peacefully at the Agape Hospice on February 2, 2007. Bob is lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his family; wife and best friend, Beverley of thirty years; brother, Jack (Mitsi); sister, Alice (Jim) Tateishi; brother, Ross (Gwen); father-in-law, Ron Ehrhardt; brothers-in-law, Ron (Paddy) and Russ (Donna) Ehrhardt; sister-in-law, Jan (Rich) McClure and many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. Bob was predeceased by his Father and Mother; his older brother, Masakazu; nephew, Mathew Fujino; and his Mother-in-law, Dorothy Ehrhardt. Bob was born in Coaldale, Alberta to Koma and Shohichi Fujino. He was educated at the University of Alberta where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery. On September 11, 1976, Beverley and Bob were married in Calgary. Bob practiced dentistry at Eastport Dental from 1974 until his retirement in 2004. Bob was an avid participant in most sports but his passion was golf. Beverley and Bob have been members of the Glencoe Golf and Country Club since it was opened in 1983. Bob was fortunate to have a single digit handicap and play over 100 rounds of golf per year. Bob will be missed and remembered by his Glencoe Group Buddies as well as his Dental Kokanuts. In June 2005, Bob was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer, a shock since he was a non-smoker. He courageously fought this battle and never doubted he would beat it. Bob’s strength was exemplified by his commitment to be present for Christmas 2006 and the New Year. He received excellent care from his Oncologist, Dr. Don Morris and nurse, Kim Nickel, and the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic. Bob spent the last days of his life at the Agape Hospice and the family would like to thank Dr. Debruyn, the staff and volunteers. The family would like to thank their numerous relatives and friends for their support.
