Obituary of Edwin Walter Ek

Edwin Walter Ek beloved husband of Marg Ek of Calgary passed away on February 3, 2007 at the age of 88 years. Edwin was born in Canwood, SK on December 22, 1918 to his loving parents, Jonas and Annie Ek. He married his loving wife Marg on August 1, 1953 and together they came to Calgary in 1955. Edwin worked as a building contractor in Calgary for over thirty years. He retired in 1984 but continued to create projects for friends and family in his workshop, simply for his love of construction. Along with his loving wife of fifty-three years Marg, Edwin will be forever remembered by his sons and daughters-in-law, Lindy and Starla and Kerry and Barbara; and by his five grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Eileen; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Joe; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway’s Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
