Obituary of Myra Mae Patterson

Myra Patterson, beloved wife of Richard (Bud) Patterson of Calgary passed away on Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Mount Royal Care Center the age of 92 years. Myra was born September 9, 1914 at Hardisty, Alberta, the sixth of nine children of Maggie and Henry Van Dewark. She married Bud Patterson on April 18, 1933, so would have celebrated 74 years together this April. Myra was always a happy person with a great sense of humour. She was very kind and always ready to help anywhere she could. Her life was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She never met a stranger and could talk to anyone anywhere. She and Bud spent 22 winters in Apache Junction, Arizona enjoying the sun, golf, and many friends they made there. With Bud she travelled extensively throughout Canada, the States, and Mexico. They also took trips to Australia, New Zealand, Greece, Spain, UK, and Ireland. She loved music, history of any kind, and always had a great thirst for knowledge. Myra and Bud lived 55 years in Edmonton and she left her heart there when they moved to Calgary in 2000. Myra will be so sadly missed by her husband Bud, daughter Yvonne (Bob) Pollock; her brother Clyde (Jean) Van Dewark; special nephew Ken (Jean) Van Dewark; four grandchildren, Pat (Peter) Raimondi, Maggie (Daryl) Richardson, Wally (Raelyn) Pollock, and Rick (Carolyn) Pollock; four ?adopted? grandchildren, Peter (Kathy) Van Dewark, Jim (Cheryl) Van Dewark, Ann Van Dewark, and Dave (Stephanie) Van Dewark; 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved each and every member of her large extended family.
