Zofia Paszkiewicz

Obituary of Zofia Paszkiewicz

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Zofia Paszkiewwicz on Thursday February 1, 2007, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 73 years. Zofia was born in Poland on April 13, 1933. She came to Canada on December 8, 1965 looking for a better life for herself and her family. Zofia was very active in the Polish community in Calgary. She was a member of the Polish Combatants Association # 18 where she served on the executive for several years. She attended the Lady Queen of Peace Polish Church where she spent many hours volunteering and actively participating in many church events. Her biggest accomplishment was raising her only son. She devoted the last few years of her life to raising her grandchildren. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Her youthful energy, personality and smile will always be remembered. “Mom, you were always our rock. No matter what or when, you were always there for us. Now it is time for you to rest; rest in peace.” Zofia is survived by her son Edward and daughter-in-law Conney (nee Giella); her two grandsons who were her angels, Justin and Matthew, all of Calgary; as well as several sisters, brothers, cousins, nieces, and nephews in Poland. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Paszkiewicz in 1984. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday February 5, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W.) on Tuesday February 6, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev.
