Obituary of Aurora Cay Arias

Aurora Arias, beloved wife of Primitivo Arias of Calgary passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the age of 70 years. Aurora was born on November 28, 1936 in Lobo, Batangas, Philippines. She graduated from Far Eastern University to become a Teacher in the Philippines. Primitivo and Aurora were married on June 18, 1966. They immigrated to Canada in 1976 to reside in Calgary, Alberta. Aurora worked for fifteen years at the Calgary General Hospital as a Housekeeping Supervisor, making numerous close friends along the way. Aurora is known to her friends as having a passion for sewing but she is better known to her family as being the proud wife of Primo, the loving mother of Shirley, Ron, and Ed (Mireille), and the joyous Lola of Mackenzie, Meghan, Christopher, and Marieve; Aurora is the sister of Abundio (Ligaya), Domiciano (Aning), Fidela (Fred) Collado, Marciano (Nilda), and Orlando (Lean); she is also the Aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Aurora was predeceased by her father Asisclo, her mother Flora, her Sister’s Adelaida and Linda, and her brother Leandro. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Saturday, February 3, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (Canadian time). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Drive N.E.) on Monday, February 5, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Long Vu, Presider.
