Obituary of Kaylen Allen Luke Otter

Kaylen Allen Luke Otter (Shooting Fences) went into the Creator’s Arms on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 on the Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB at the age of 20 years. Kaylen was born on May 11, 1986. Kaylen was a very athletic individual, who showed his potential in everything that he did. He loved and played the sports of football, lacrosse, basketball and truly believed and followed his traditional ways and culture. Kaylen had a “Heart of Gold” who accepted his great Aunties and Uncles, Cousins and Relatives from the Small Legs, Wadsworth, Starlight, Dodging horse, Big Plume, Simon, and Otter families. Kaylen is survived by his mother Iris Otter; father Murray Small Legs; special step- father Jerome McHugh; brothers, Barry Otter (Alberta), Garvin, Carson, Garth Otter, Wayne Meguinis (Chastity), Narcisse Deschamps, Eugene Memnook (Angela), Cameron, Thomas, Ronald Deschamps and by his loving sisters, Kristen, Tiaerra and Kaitlin Deschamps. He is also survived by his aunties, Sophia Otter, Sharon Deschamps (Ronald), Cindy Otter, Vanessa Otter (Wayne), Sonia McHugh, Theresa R. Big Plume, and Valerie Dodging horse; uncles, Chief Sandford Big Plume (Brenda), James Big Plume (Josephine), Develon Small Legs, Wilfred Big Crow (Corrina) Blair McHugh (Melinda), and Ronald McHugh. Kaylen will be forever remembered by his maternal grandparents, Roy Otter and Barbara Otter and Bruce Starlight (Deanna). He was proud and had great pride and joy over his nephew, Corbin (T-Bone) Otter and niece, Shari (Bubbles) Otter. Kaylen was predeceased by his loving wife and soul mate, Jazna Marie Crosschild, his sister, Gloria Anne Otter and his paternal grandparents: Chief Nelson Small Legs & Florence Small Legs and his maternal great grandparents Stanley and Louise Big Plume. We truly regret anyone whom we missed, as Kaylen had so many friends and relatives.
