Obituary of Mona Vern Young

Mona Vern Young passed into the presence of her Lord on Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Mona was born on December 18, 1920 in Staples, Minnesota, but most of her childhood years were spent in Oconto, Wisconsin. In 1939 she attended St. Paul Bible Institute where she met her husband to be, Lowell, whom she married on December 25, 1941. Through pastoral ministry they served churches in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Florida, and in Calgary and Abbotsford before retiring in 1992. Mona was a true servant, a lover of God’s Word, a dedicated prayer warrior, and brought a warm and loving presence to all she met. Mona will be lovingly remembered by her family, and is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Jim) Janz, of Surrey, BC., and Colleen (Boyd) Bremner, of Aitkin, MN.; Two Sons, Darrel (Diane) Young, of Seattle, WA., and Terry (Debbie) Young, of Calgary, AB. Mona is also survived by eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Lowell, in 1999. Funeral Services will be held at First Alliance Church (12345 – 40th Street S.E.) on Monday, February 5, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
