Obituary of Melvin Peter Bzdel

It is with great sadness that the family of Melvin Peter Bzdel announces his passing on Monday January 29, 2007, at the age of 39 years, with his loving family by his bedside. Mel was born on December 8, 1967 in Regina. He was a devoted, principled man that led his life by example and was a true inspiration to all who knew him. He will be affectionately remembered because of the special ways in which he touched the lives of those around him. Mel greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. The memories of him and his passion for Ukrainian dance will never be forgotten. He remembered very fondly all of his hunting and fishing trips and his love of the outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife of seventeen years, Leanne; his children Lesia and Bradley; his father Mervin of Regina, SK; his brother Darrell and his daughter Janelle of Wishart, SK. He was predeceased by his mother Josie. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Stephen’s Ukrainian Catholic Church (4903 – 45th Street S.W.) on Thursday February 1, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Rendall Yackimec, Presider. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Tryzub School of Ukrainian Dance, Box 2220, Strathmore, AB, T1P-1K2.
