Obituary of Ann Henwood

Lillian Henwood (Ann) of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Ann was born August 16, 1922 in Andover, Hampshire, England. She was married to Lynn Henwood, her “soldier boy” on January 25, 1946 in England as a war bride and immigrated to Canada later that same year. Ann and Lynn moved to Calgary in 1958 with their family and she was Nanny for many families over the years. She was a member of Greater Forest Lawn Senior Citizens Club where she enjoyed dancing and singing in their choir. Ann is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Laureen and Jim Bowman of Calgary and Bev and Fred Montford of Warner, AB; four granddaughters, Patti Bowman (John McKenzie), Carol (Dean) King, Sharron (Steven) Winter and Rachelle Montford; five great-grandchildren, Chris and Rebecca King, Portia and Justin Montford and John James Winter. She is also survived by two brothers Jack and John Ewens of England. Ann was predeceased by her husband Lynn Henwood on October 16, 1993; her sister Anne Pearce and two brothers, Bill and George Ewens. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
