Obituary of Elsie Wolff

Elsie Wolff, of Airdrie, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2007, at the age of 90 years. Elsie was born November 25, 1916, in Whitsett, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. After a short return trip to Hungary in 1922, the family emigrated to Canada in 1924, initially settling on the Canadian Prairies, then moving to the Peace Country of B.C. where Elsie spent most of her young life. She met her future husband Otto Wolff and eventually settled in Edmonton where they raised their family. Years after Otto’s passing, Elsie moved to Calgary to live with her daughter Gail. Elsie is remembered by her daughter, Gail Wolford, of Airdrie; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Mary Wolff, of Ottawa, and Roger and Judy Wolff, of Victoria; grandchildren, Russell (Teri) Schuster, Aaron (Amber) Appleyard, Ciara (Michael) Trudeau, Annemarie Wolff, Patricia Wolff, Kathy (Neil) Denney, and David (Donna) Wolff; and great-grandchildren, Gregory, Hollie, Anthony, Helaina, Riley, and Kate. Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Otto Norman Wolff, and their daughter, Beverley, who passed away in infancy. We will remember Elsie for her great kindness and gentleness, her love of nature and gardening, and her quick wit.
