Obituary of Ada Violet Drake

Ada Violet Drake of Calgary, dearest Mom, Nana and Great-Grandma, was called by the Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2007 in her 95th year. Ada was born July 23, 1912 in Keighley, Yorkshire, England, the first child of Sara and Bill Ainsworth. In 1936 she married the love of her life, Jim Drake, who predeceased her in 1973. In 1980, Ada immigrated to Canada to be with her daughter and family. Left with cherished memories are daughter Judy Lewis (Wayne Hicks); granddaughter Tracy Forsey (Phil); and great-grandchildren, Meagan and Philip, all of Calgary. In England, she will be remembered by three younger brothers, Ken (Jean), Jack (Joyce – deceased), Bill (Mary); and numerous nieces and nephews. Ada was loved by all who knew her. She always had a kind word and a caring heart. A Celebration of Ada’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
