Obituary of Thomas Albert Alexander
Dr. Thomas Albert (Alec, Tom) Alexander, passed away on Thursday January 18, 2007, at the age of 85 years.
Born in Penticton, BC, and raised in Nanton, AB, Albert enlisted with the R.C.A.F. in 1942. Upon completion of pilot training he served as a Flying Officer during WWII. Following the war he studied dentistry at the University of Alberta, graduating in 1950, and practiced for forty years in Nanton and Calgary, retiring in 1990. Albert enjoyed many sports but his passion was golf. A long time member of the Calgary Golf and Country Club, he played a superb game. Albert and Hetty shared a wonderful life together, recently celebrating their 63rd anniversary. He was a charter member of Chinook Rotary and a member of Southern Alberta AirCrew Association. Albert will be remembered for his integrity, his deep love of family, and being a true and loyal friend.
He was the dearly loved husband of Hetty; beloved father of Lynn (John) Rule and Ted Alexander; and dear grandfather of Jonathan (Sheila) Rule and Jamie Rule. He is also survived by his sister Helen Millott of Calgary. He was predeceased by his brother Gordon in 2004.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church (903 – 75th Avenue S.W.) on Thursday January 25, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. R.H. Grant Rodgers, Presider.
