Kathleen Williams

Obituary of Kathleen Williams

The family of Kathleen “Kay” Williams sadly announces that she passed away peacefully on January 18, 2007, in Calgary following a brief illness. She leaves behind numerous loved ones including her children, Bob (Joyce) Williams, Shelley (Boyd) Hastey and Simone (Paul) Urquhart; her granddaughter Dionne (John) McLellan; her great-granddaughter Lauren McLellan; and her brother Jerry (Stella) Glass. She was predeceased by her husband Albert and son Dehl. The Williams family spent many years in Vermilion and St. Paul before moving to Calgary. Kay loved music, be it dancing or playing the piano or drums. She and Al played in a number of dance bands spanning fifty plus years providing entertainment at functions everywhere they resided. She devoted countless hours of volunteer work to the C.W.L., the Royal Purple and numerous other charities and organizations. Kay strongly believed in the power of prayer and looked often to St. Gerard (the patron saint of Motherhood) for guidance. We, her children, benefited the most and will best remember her as a mother whose devotion to her children and family was utterly tireless and selfless. We were truly blessed. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday January 22, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
