Obituary of Annie Schmalzbauer

Annie Schmalzbauer, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, residing in Loverna, SK and Calgary, AB, passed away in Calgary on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Annie was born in Boyne Lake, AB to George and Mary Hlushko, and later married Carl Schmalzbauer in 1954. She worked very hard with her husband, Carl, to put together and operate a large grain farm in Marengo, SK, which their son David still actively farms. Annie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Beverly (Cameron) Gilbert of Calgary, David (Terry) Schmalzbauer of Marengo, SK, Robert (Janice) Schmalzbauer of Medicine Hat, AB, and Judy Romero of Longbeach CA; and her grandchildren, Kate, Andrew Gilbert, Jodi, Jason, Schmalzbauer, Dylan, Desi Schmalzbauer, Daryl, Karen, Steven Schmalzbauer, and James, Michelle Sutliff. Annie was predeceased by husband Carl; son James Schmalzbauer; and grandchildren, Jamie, Tracy Schmalzbauer and Sarah Gilbert. Relatives and friends are invited to prayers and tributes at Marengo Catholic Church (Marengo, SK) on Friday, January 19, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. followed by a luncheon. Funeral Services will be held Marengo Catholic Church on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Services to follow at Loverna Cemetery with a lunch to follow at Marengo Hall.
