Obituary of Margaret Jean Marston

With sad hearts, the family of Jean Marston announces that she passed away peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, January 13, 2007 after a short battle with pneumonia in the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital at the age of 88 years. Bob and Jean married in 1949 and started farming in Airdrie, then moved to Bearspaw in 1951 where the family farm remains today. Her love of the land and being a farmer’s wife was a prominent factor throughout her life. Jean will be lovingly remembered for her kind heartedness, strong devotion to family and friends, along with her determined character and amazing sense of work ethic. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Marston of 57 years; her two daughters and son-in-laws, Margaret and Gordon Rook, Maureen and Mitch Garyk and their two children – her precious grandsons – Shane and John Ramsay (J.R.) Garyk. Jean was predeceased by her first daughter Caroline (1957); and her four brothers, Angus (1941), Jack (1997), Donald (1997) and Charles (1999.) Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Cochrane Funeral Home (369 Railway Street) on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Heather Koots presiding.
