Obituary of John William Tipping

It is with deep sadness that the Tipping family announces the passing of John (Jack) William Tipping beloved husband of Mary Tipping of Calgary on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the age of 74 years. Jack proudly served his country for twenty-six years in the Canadian Armed Forces. His military service included the Korean War, Cyprus and Germany. Jack retired from the Army in 1976 as a Sergeant with the R.C.E.M.E. Corps and was highly decorated, the recipient of the Canadian Distinguished Medal. Following the Armed Forces Jack continued working as a civil servant attached to the engineers at Currie Barracks until 1992. After retirement he enjoyed many years of camping and travelling with his loving wife and family. Besides his loving wife of fifty-three years Mary, Jack is survived by his two daughters, Deborah Minchin and Judy Maudsley; son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Beth Tipping all of Calgary; and his four grandchildren, Sean, Alecia, Ashley and Christy. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Bob Herdman of South Carolina; sister-in-law Marion Tipping of Duncan, BC, and many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives and friends.
