Obituary of Concetta Maria Jamart
Connie Jamart of Calgary passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Rosedale Hospice on January 6, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 72 years.
Connie was born in Villalago, Italy on November 18, 1934. Connie and her family bravely immigrated to Canada in 1949 to join their father Ascanio, who had made the trip to Canada one year earlier to begin his family’s future. Connie’s passion for music included being a member of the Calgary Italian Choir, where she would joyfully sing songs from her Italian heritage, but Connie will be most remembered for her devotion and love for her family. Her smile, warm eyes and constant giving to all that entered her home will always be cherished and deeply missed. Our memories of you Connie will always bring warmth to our hearts and a smile to our face.
With every beat, the beautiful music you enjoyed plays on.
Connie is survived by her daughter Christine (Ed) Messom; her son Perry (Elle) Jamart; her grandchildren Brad, Kerri and Jesse Messom; her step grandchildren Kurtis and Emily Mitchell; and her great grandson, Kalem McGrath. Connie is also survived by her sisters, Lucy (George) Sticksl, Amanda (Leo) Virdis, Josie (Ennio) Del Degan, and her brothers, John and Tony Iafolla. Connie was predeceased by her husband, Romain Gustov Jamart, as well as her parents, Ascanio and Paolina Iafolla.
