Obituary of Marie Irene Rousseau

Louise began each morning spending time with the Lord reading her Bible and in prayer. On the morning of Monday, January 8, 2007 after a long, courageous struggle with lung and heart related illness, Jesus called her to be with Him for the morning, and forevermore! Louise was born, raised and educated in Winnipeg, MB and she and George were married there in 1968. They moved to Saskatoon, SK in 1972 and soon started their family. Even though a working mom, Louise became even busier as a member of the Kinette Club of Saskatoon POW City. She received an Elspeth Rogers Life Member Award along with numerous other awards and accolades. She loved serving in her community and the relationships developed there were life long. A move to Calgary in 1983 was handled with ease even though daughter Michelle was well on the way. Louise’s life then changed as she sought to discover her real purpose. She soon developed a personal and devout relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus used her to reach her husband and children. She leaves a remarkable legacy and even though absent, her family and friends are comforted knowing she is now “dancing” with the Lord. Louise was a voracious reader and loved music. She now knows heaven’s choir sounds. She loved watching, listening and getting to know her backyard birds. They are going to miss her too! Louise devoted herself to caring for her husband and children but made time to be an active member at her church, Midpark Christian Assembly. She enjoyed, loved and cherished being with her church family and extended circle of friends. She did her very best to never let health related issues get in the way of “living”! Louise was a trusted friend, a person who would be there to pray with you and a women of integrity. Left behind, for now, is her husband of thirty-eight years George; her children, Jacquie Clarke and her husband John, Robert and his wife Heidi and their children, Sadie and Telly, and the youngest daughter Michelle. Louise delighted in her grandchildren and was looking forward to more on the way! She is also remembered by her dad and mom, Bernard and Lorraine Laverdiere; brothers, Emile and Philip of Winnipeg, MB; and sister Dolorese Reid (Larry) of Brampton, Ont. Louise created wonderful friendships with those she worked with in Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Calgary. Her career included banking, administrative and paralegal work. What she treasured most was being a wife, a Mom and a Grandma.
