Obituary of Vincenzo Lombardo

Vincenzo Lombardo of Calgary passed away on January 9, 2007 at the age of 76 years. Vincenzo was born on December 9, 1930, in Monteforte, Irpino, Avellino, Italy. He married Giuseppina Aurigemma on June 14, 1956, and they came to Calgary in 1959, where Vincenzo worked for Atco Industries for thirty years, retiring in 1990. In his retirement, Vincenzo spent a great deal of time helping his brother at Lombardo’s Restaurant. Vincenzo also loved carpentry, and would always be there to help his family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, wine-making, and all sports, especially soccer. Besides his loving wife of fifty years, Giuseppina, Vincenzo is also survived by his daughter, Marlene Lombardo; son and daughter-in-law, Aurelio and Kellie Lombardo; and four grandchildren, Nicole, Amanda, Jessica, and Christina, all of Calgary. He is also survived by his three brothers, Generoso (Maria), Carmine (Viola), and Guiseppe (Anna-Maria) Lombardo; his two sisters, Maria (Carlo) Romano, Emilia (Alfonso) Vona; his sister-in-law, Maria Lombardo; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Vincenzo was predeceased by his daughter, Maria, his brother, Francesco, and his parents, Aurelio and Annunziata (nee. Dacierno) Lombardo.
