Obituary of Lois May Stremich

Lois May Stremich of Calgary passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2007 at the age of 79 years. Lois was born on March 29, 1927 in Edmonton, AB. Shortly thereafter she moved to Winnipeg with her parents, Miles and Norma Selby, and older sister Bernice. She grew up and worked in Winnipeg for the CNR and James Richardson Security until such time as she married James Peter Stremich on October 25, 1952. They had three daughters in the years following. Lois and Jim moved to Vancouver in 1965, then resided in Calgary from 1968 to the present. Lois lived a very full and active life and was a delight to all who knew her. She will be sadly missed by all who were privileged enough to know her. Lois is survived by her three daughters and son-in-law, Wendy and Harry Allerdings, Pat Stremich, and Andrea Stremich; as well as two grandchildren, Tracy Allerdings and Jim Stremich. She is also survived by her sister Bernice (George) Laing; and nephews, Fraser (Sue) Laing and Gordon Laing. She was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1981. A Celebration of Lois’ Life will be held at Christ Moravian Church (600 Acadia Drive S.E.) on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen Gohdes, Presider.
