Obituary of Maurice Houghton

Paul Houghton of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the age of 53 years. Paul was born on November 26, 1953 in Prince Rupert, BC and grew up in Burnaby, BC. He had numerous challenges and dealt with them. Paul moved to Calgary in the mid seventies and worked as a carpenter and electrician. He loved cooking and the outdoors, especially fishing in the Okanagan. Paul was a courageous and generous man who strove for the best; he gave all he had. He had a great sense of humour and loved to make people laugh. Paul is survived by his best friend and soul partner Sally; her children, Kristin and Jillian; his former wife Coreen; their children, Chase and Zackery; stepson Jared; dear sister Marlene and her husband Doug, and Teresa; former mother-in-law Molly; as well as numerous relatives and friends, especially Grandma Pat, Joye and Eileen. Paul was predeceased by his parents Phyllis and Maurice Houghton. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, January 5, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A Celebration of Paul’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church (924 Heritage Drive S.W.) on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Rod Sykes of St. Andrew’s United Church and Bishop David MacDonald of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Presiding. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
