Obituary of Arvids Muiznieks
Arvids Muiznieks passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Monday, January 1, 2007, eight days shy of his 84th birthday.
Arvids was born in Riga, Latvia, where he lived until 1941. Following active service in World War II, he found himself in London England where he enjoyed the single life before meeting and marrying Valentine in 1950. Together, they moved to Toronto in 1951, where they raised their two sons. In 1993, they relocated to Calgary to stay close to both sons and their families. Arvids was a plumber by trade, but was skilled in many other construction trades as well – something that greatly benefited his family and friends over the years. Arvids is survived by his loving wife Valentine, his two sons and daughters-in-law Vilnis and Sylvia and Rolands and Rasma; his six grandchildren Rudis (Heather), Max, Tatiana, Erika, Aleksandra, and Diana; and in Latvia there are three nephews, one niece and their children. Arvids had a big heart, a strong sense of humour and enjoyed a good time. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W. Telephone: (403) 241-0044), on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
