Obituary of Margaret Stack

Peggy Stack of Calgary passed away on Monday, January 1, 2007 at the age of 82 years. Peggy lovingly raised seven children and was a wonderful mother. Her brother Frank and his wife Pat Swartzlander provided loving support to the family. Her sister-in-law Kay Stack was also a dear friend. Peggy was a devoted member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish, a member of the CWL and was active in several church ministries. She was a pro-life supporter and a volunteer for both the crisis line and Meals on Wheels. Peggy graduated as a registered nurse and trained at Ottawa General Hospital. She was chosen as the poster girl to recruit nurses during World War II. Peggy enjoyed a successful thirty year career as a realtor in Calgary, and was frequently recognized as a top seller by the industry as well as being recognized for selling the first $100,000.00 home in Calgary. Peggy loved to play bridge with members of the Stanley Drive Bridge Club (Happy Hearts), the Calgary Golf and Country Club and the Elboya Community Association. She loved to spend her summers at Adventure Bay on the Okanagan Lake in Vernon, B.C. Peggy was predeceased by her husband Louis John Stack in 1993. Louis is survived by his sister Kay Stack and his brother Edward (Joan) Stack. Peggy is survived by her children and their spouses Paul (Sarah) Stack, Barry (Myrna-Lea) Stack; Carlyn (Jim) Dodge; Frank Stack (Pam Lougheed-Stack); Luke (Anne) Stack; Kathy Stack Merten; and Louis (Margaret) Stack. Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Luke, Danielle, Joshua, Elisha, Justin, Jonathan, Brittany, Philip, Amber, Stephen, Jesse, Elyse, Trevor, Dylan, Joel (Falina), Laura, Heather, Stephenie, Morgan, Marquess, Tynan and Teaghan. She will also be remembered by her one great grandson Diego; her brother and sister-in-law Frank and Pat Swartzlander and their children Susan (Joe) Kasper and Margie (Peter) Hass and their families.
