Obituary of Doris Skimmings

Doris Skimmings of Priddis passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the age of 100 years. Doris was born November 6, 1906 in Cornholm, Lancashire, England and immigrated to Canada in 1949. She was a member of the Snowbirds Seniors in Bragg Creek. Doris enjoyed crocheting dolls and competed in the Calgary Stampede and the Millarville Fair in which she won numerous ribbons. Doris is survived by a son David and his wife Sandra Skimmings of Priddis; two grandchildren, Barry and his wife Connie Skimmings and Patricia and her husband Brian Shandruk all of Priddis; two great grandchildren, Craig and his wife Christie of Bragg Creek and Ryan Skimmings of Priddis; a great-great-granddaughter Tessa Skimmings of Bragg Creek; as well as her step son Roy Skimmings and his family of Calgary. Doris was predeceased by her husband Robert Skimmings in 1989.
