Obituary of Buffy Anne Ainsworth

Buffy Anne Ainsworth, beloved wife of Bob Ainsworth, of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at the age of 54 years. Buffy was born on March 4, 1952 in Calgary. She attended the University of Calgary, earning a BA in English, and the University of Edmonton, completing course work leading to her Teaching Certification. Buffy will be fondly remembered as a wife, friend, and mother, as well as a teacher, musician, accomplished poet, and writer. Her family was her major passion but she also found time to pursue her writing, friendships, and travel. Buffy was a strong woman who lent grace and dignity to all she did. Following her diagnosis with cancer 9 years ago she had repeated periods of treatment and illness interspersed with times of health and activity. Her family and friends feel blessed. Besides her loving husband, Buffy is survived by her two daughters, Heather and Jill, her son, Stephen, as well as her mother Laura Stewart Patterson, all of Calgary. Buffy is also remembered by her sisters Luana (Ken) Waldron, of St Albert, and Sylvia Polachuk, of Calgary, as well as her brother, John (Lee) Patterson, also of Calgary. She was predeceased by her father, Henry S. Patterson. A Celebration of Buffy’s Life will be held at St. Thomas United Church, 100 Hawkwood Blvd NW, Calgary AB on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Roslyn Campbell and Rev.
