Obituary of Phyllis Palmer

Phyllis “Joyce” Palmer (nee McKinstry) beloved wife of Don Palmer of Calgary, passed away at the Sarcee Hospice on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 72 years. Joyce was born on December 2, 1934 in Griffin, SK. She was married to the love of her life Don on July 30, 1966 in Calgary, AB. Together Don and Joyce worked in the printing industry for over forty years. Joyce loved her pets, Scamp, Rebel and Buddy; her flower and vegetable garden as well as her grandchildren. She was heavily involved in the Richmond Community Association. The door to the Palmer residence was always open and there was always food on the table. Besides her loving husband of forty years Don, Joyce is lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Allison; two daughters, Dawne Clark and Debbie Weltzin, all of Calgary; and by her five grandchildren, Terry, Erin and Noel Clark, Yolanda Weltzin and Kathryn Palmer. She is also survived by her three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Betty, Dale and Oona, and Jim and Darlene. Joyce was predeceased by her daughter Danna Heighes. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with Barbara Cameron, Minister.
