Silvano Perizzolo

Obituary of Silvano Perizzolo

Silvano Perizzolo (“Sil”), beloved husband of Linda, of Calgary, passed away on December 15, 2006 at the age of 60 years. Born on August 19, 1946, at Crespano del Grappa, Treviso, Italy, Silvano (Sil) immigrated to Canada on his own in 1965. Eventually Silvano settled in Calgary, where he met and married Linda Ashmore on July 3, 1971, and where, together, they raised three sons. Silvano was a welder and a member of the Iron Workers Union for twenty years, after which he moved on to work with CP Rail for sixteen years. Silvano was a hardworking man, but never boastful; and he carried himself with reserve. Silvano enjoyed working in his garden, and socializing with his neighbours, taking great pleasure from being with people. Silvano’s pride and joy, however, was his family, especially his grandchildren. A devoted family man, Silvano didn’t have to tell you he loved you, you just knew that he did. Besides his loving wife, Linda, Silvano is also survived by his three sons, Paolo, of Calgary, Angelo, of Calgary, and Enio and his wife Chantel, of Calmar, Alberta; four grandchildren, Matthew, Eric, Mattea, and Anna; and his brothers and sisters, Elio (Roslyn), Bertilla (Mario), Rosetta (Giosue), Bruna (Giuseppe), and Mario (Marlaine). Silvano was predeceased by his father, Giacomo, his mother, Antonia, and his brother, Luigi. Relatives are invited to prayers at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev.
