Obituary of William Peter Janewski

William Janewski (Bill), of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at the age of 75 years. Left to celebrate Bill’s life are his loving wife of 52 years, Ellen; his sister, Eunice (Ollie), sister-in-law, Eileen, and his brother-in-law, Harold (Grace); his children, Dennis (Cheryl), Murray (Kim), Dan (Christine), and Brenda (Lynn); and his grandchildren, Shannon, Neal, Kevin, Cyndi, Dale, Sarah, Simon, Robynn, Reanna, Vanessa, and Travis. Bill was predeceased by his brother Herb. Bill was born on February 16, 1931 in Edson, AB. Bill worked for 30 years at Nova Corporation (“Trunk Line”), until his retirement in 1988. Bill’s life was filled with adventures and creativity. His ability to entertain with music and humour was one of his greatest accomplishments. Bill was the ultimate outdoorsman, to the envy of others. BBQ steaks and Sunday pancakes were his specialty, and greatly enjoyed by his family. He was an avid sportsman; coaching, playing, or cheering. To everyone who knew Bill, he was “the Rock”.
